My Story

Nikki's Canine Sassoon was set up in 2017 by City & Guilds qualified groomer, Nichola MacGillivray. That's me!

Having been born and brought up at my parents farm in Barcaldine, I have always been an animal lover, along with having the natural ability to quickly read animals behaviours and using this to put them at ease.

I undertook my City & Guilds training at the well known and respected training centre, Scotgroom. Trained by world wide winning dog groomer Agnes Murphy, I passed my City and Guilds diploma with merits and distinctions.

Having a real passion for grooming, I have continued to study and was awarded with the ICMG (International Certified Master Groomer) qualification in December 2022, a very highly regarded qualification in the dog grooming world with only a few practitioners qualified in the UK.

Taking part in seminars across the country is a regular occurrence for me and ensures that my training and methods are up to date and correct.

I am also a member of the Groomers Spotlight who advocate for the dog grooming world to become regulated and training to become essential. This is a great resource that dog owners may refer to when choosing a qualified groomer in their area.

We have lots of treatments on offer at Nikki's Canine Sassoon and you can rest assured that your dog will be in very safe hands whilst at the Sassoon.

Having recently moved my business into town, I am delighted to have seen a significant rise in my customer base. My business is now based in Lochavuillin Road which is an great central location to work from and easily accessible by public and private transport.
